Patrick Michael Gillan

He was born March 24, 1941, in Ravenna, Ohio to parents James Joseph and Margaret Mildred (Dusek) Gillan. Patrick retired from Oak Rubber. He continued working as a mechanic and with the junkyard on Wall Street.

He was Catholic by faith and former member of St. Patrick’s Parish in Kent. Patrick enjoyed listening to music and singing Christmas carols. He was a talented artist and liked to play chess and other board games. Above all, Patrick was a dedicated family man who cherished the time he spent with his loved ones.

He is survived by his children: Edith Marie Gillan, Kathy (Chad) Sekunna Sr., and Scotty Michael Gillan, his grandchildren: Sean Tillis, Chad (fiancé Brittany Hunsicker) Sekunna Jr., great-grandchildren: Kairi Joanne Detweiler and Matthew Allen Sekunna, as well as his sister Margie Workersham, and dear friends Patricia and Margaret Linger.

Patrick was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Suzan (King) Gillan, his grandchildren Robert Johnson and Dallas Sekunna, and his brother James Gillan.

Friends and family will be received Monday, April 28, 2025, from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM with a funeral service at 12:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna. Interment will follow at Standing Rock Cemetery in Kent.
