

She was born November 23, 1924, in New Milford, Ohio, a daughter of the late Angelo and Angela (Feola) Galzerano. Philomena graduated from Rootstown High School. She retired from Ametek/Lamb Electric in 1990.
Philomena was a member of Immaculate Conception Parish and belonged to the Young at Heart and Infant of Prague Society. She enjoyed bowling and visiting the casinos on bus trips. Most of all, she loved to spend time with her family, nieces, and nephews.
Philomena was preceded in death by her husband Remus P. Balista, her parents, and her sisters Amelia Calabria and Madeline Bologna. She is survived by her sister Rose Locke of Ravenna and Dorothy (Al) Stoessner of Ravenna, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Monday, April 15, 2013, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend John Madden at 11:00 AM on Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Church, 409 W. Main St., Ravenna. Interment will be at Standing Rock Cemetery in Kent.
