He was born August 31, 1933, in Ravenna, Ohio, to parents Ralph “Rudy” and Pauline (Miller) Carl. Richard proudly served his country as a veteran of the US Army in the Korean War. He later went on to serve the City of Kent for over 30 years as a Firefighter.
Richard was a member of the Kent American Legion. He enjoyed restoring classic cars and was a member of Friends of Corvair.
Richard is survived by his children: Reneé (Curt) Dixon, Richard W. (Elizabeth) Carl, Michael Carl, Beth Fish, and Kelly Tice, as well as his grandchildren: Ethan, Zoë, Amanda, Justin, and Tyler, as well as his great-grandchildren: Zane, Will, and Raegan.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Linda (Wetmore) Carl.
