Richard L. Taylor, age 85 of Ravenna, passed away Friday, May 7, 2021, at UH Portage Medical Center.

He was born May 12, 1935, in Antioch, Ohio, and graduated from Ravenna High School in 1954. Richard worked as a meat cutter for Kroger and Giant Eagle until his retirement. He was a longtime member of Immaculate Conception Parish.

Richard was a true outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting, and trapping. He also enjoyed camping, gardening, and bowling. Richard was a CYO basketball coach and Little League coach for many years.

Richard is survived by his beloved wife Patricia (Chechak) Taylor, his children: Cheryl (Rick) Walker, Amy (Dan) Stankavich, Rick (Kathy) Taylor, Sue (Scott) Lishing, Pam (Dan) Livengood, as well as his 7 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and special cousins Gary, Jack, and Ed Pittman.

He was preceded in death by his mother Muriel Swiger, grandparents: Foster and Goldie Pittman, brother Danny Taylor, sister Judy Kay Turner, and grandson Matthew Walker.

Friends and family will be received Friday, May 14, 2021, from 10:30 – 11:30 AM with funeral services officiated by Reverend William Kraynak at 11:30 AM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna. Entombment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery. Guests must wear masks and practice social distancing. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.wood-kortright-borkoski.com.
