

Robert “Bob” E. Gray, Jr. passed into eternal rest on May 5, 2026, in Farmdale, Ohio, surrounded by his loving family. A long-time resident of Hartford, OH, Bob was born in New Brighton, PA to the late Robert E. Gray, Sr and Margaret (Steele) Gray.
He enrolled in the Navy at a young age where he earned his GED, proudly serving four years during the Korean conflict. Following his service, he met and married the love of his life, Patricia J. (Miller) Gray, who preceded him. They began building their life together in New Brighton, PA where they started raising their 3 children. He worked for the Bell telephone company in PA before moving with his family to Hartford, OH and working for the United Telephone Company from which he retired. Even after they moved to Ohio, they kept in close contact with their friends and family in Pennsylvania.
They belonged to the Grace United Methodist church of New Brighton and traveled there almost every Sunday. Family and Faith were the motivation for Bob’s life and will be his legacy.
Bob will be greatly missed by his daughter, Susan (Paul) Steiner and son, David (Mary) Gray, a special granddaughter who was more like a daughter, Amber (Jamison) Conley, his siblings, Ed (Donna) Gray, Peggy (Tom) Czartoryski, Beth (Sue Monczunski) Gray, and Patric (Linda) Gray. His memory will also be cherished by his grandchildren, Tiffany Gorby, Ashlee (Clay) Stone, Kyle (Amber Moore) Gray, Nick Steiner, Rob (Erika Airhart) Steiner, Emily (Brian) Riggs, Kelley Friend and numerous nieces, nephews and great grandchildren.
He was preceded by his daughter, Carrie Ellen (Gray) Emrick.
A memorial service will be held at New Brighton Methodist Church, 1033 6th Ave, New Brighton, PA 15066 on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 1 PM with visitation one hour prior and a luncheon to follow. An additional service will be held at The Legacy Assisted Living, 8785 Youngstown Kingsville Rd, Farmdale, OH 44417 on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at 2 PM.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Legacy Assisted Living or an organization of your choice.
The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to The Legacy Assisted Living community for their loving care and who became an extended family to Bob in recent years.
