She served as a volunteer with AmeriCorps Senior Companion Program of Portage County for over 20 years. She was an amazing cook at The Clubhouse and the Kent Elks Lodge #1377 before retiring. She also served as an Avon Representative for many years.
Those that knew Rochelle loved her spunky personality and ability to make friends wherever she went. She was witty, full of life, an amazing card player and an absolute joy to be around. She enjoyed spending time with her large family, watching the Cleveland Indians, going to the casino, working in her yard, listening to country music and Elvis Presley, and cooking meals for family gatherings and holidays.
She is preceded in departure by her daughter Terri Hutson-Groves; her brothers David “Hoot” Bradfield and Gary Bradfield; her grandchildren Celeste Garey, Ashley Adams, and Cody Groves; her niece Debbie Bradfield and her nephew Michael Bradfield.
She is survived by her twelve children: Brian Hutson, Tammy Adams, Rhonda Holmes (Adams), Scott Adams, Kelli Thompson (Adams), Kirk Adams, Derek Adams, Jodi Krestan-Obradovich (Shelton), Todd Shelton, Cristi Shelton, Jennifer Shelton and Jessica Shelton. Surviving also are her 22 grandchildren: Rochelle “Shelli”, Tera, Ryan, Tanya, Jace, Ronnie Jr. “RJ”, Larry, Devin, Brittany, Greggory, Erykah, Emily, Erin, Austyn, Noah, Jasmyn, Clayton, Amanda, McKenzie, Lance Jr., Ariana, Haylee; her 38 great-grandchildren, her 4 great-great-grandchildren and her nieces Natalie and Robin Bradfield.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to Rochelle’s favorite charity “Boys Town”.
In regards to services, the family is planning a celebration of life with details to follow.
