

She was born April 25, 1942, in Canton, Ohio, to parents John and Lena (Russ) Lengyel. Rosemary graduated from Central Catholic High School in Canton, and was a longtime member of Immaculate Conception Parish in Ravenna. She belonged to the church’s Our Lady’s Guild, Young at Heart, and served on the bereavement committee. Rosemary also held various offices with the Catholic Daughters of America (CDofA) and the National Council of Catholic Women (NCCW), Youngstown Chapter.
She was also a member of Ravenna Moose Chapter 1234 since 2000 and was actively involved in bake sales, holiday festivities, and helping with meals and burger nites. All of these organizations kept her busy until her health slowed her down.
Rosemary was employed in several fields over the years, from bank teller to home healthcare. Ultimately, she retired from Portage Metropolitan Housing in 2008, and remained a member of the Portage Chapter of PERI.
Rosemary is survived by her children: Rebecca Wetshtein, William “Bill” (Cheri Groves) Wetshtein, and John P. (Carolyn Ferrell) Wetshtein, her two grandchildren: John M. (son of Rebecca) and Kaitlyn (daughter of John and Carolyn).
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William F. Wetshtein, and her older brother John Lengyel from Long Island, NY.
Friends and family will be received Tuesday, January 9, 2024, from 5:00 – 6:30 PM with a funeral service celebrated by Deacon Chris Germak at 6:30 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna. Private entombment will take place at St. Mary Cemetery.
