Virginia Frances Martin

Frances Martin, age 92 of Ravenna, passed away August 12, 2025. She was born November 30, 1932, in Fayetteville, West Virginia, to parents Charles S. and Cloia A. (Woolwine) Jones.

Faith and family were always most important in Frances’ life. She was a devoted member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, a loving mother, and absolutely cherished her grandchildren.

Frances was also a hard worker. She was a longtime waitress at Triangle Pharmacy and later gave out samples at Giant Eagle.

She is survived by her children: Randall Bess, Vicki (Ted) Wright, and Dawn Maria Martin, her grandchildren: Adam Bess, Randall Bess II, Brent Miller, Chelsea (Dave) Stahl, Shane Miller, and Ben Wright, her 9 great-grandchildren, including Allianna Jean Myers and Kaydyn Rose Stahl, and her 3 great-great-grandchildren, as well as her sister Gloria.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents, the love of her life Billy Martin, her son Michael Bess, and her siblings: Charles J. Jones Sr., Johnny Jones, Stewart Jones, Loretta Ross, and Cordelia Overholtzer.

Friends and family will be received Monday, August 18, 2025, from 4:00 – 6:00 PM with a funeral service following at 6:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 Main St., Ravenna, OH.
