He was born July 19, 1945, in Butler, Pennsylvania, to parents Don and Irene (Brewster) Young. William was an electrician at the General Motors Lordstown Plant, retiring in 2005. He was a veteran of the US Navy serving in the Vietnam War. William was also a member of Ravenna Unity Lodge F&AM.
He is survived by his son William John Young V of Deerfield, as well as brothers Don, Paul, Glen, and Jim Young, and his sister Ruth Young.
Cremation has taken place and services will be held on a later date at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.wood-kortright-borkoski.com.
