

Thomas Edward, beloved husband of Mary Louise Pennekamp (nee Bertram). Loving father of Donna J. (Michael R.) Brodeur and Thomas A. (Mary Lee) Pennekamp. Dear brother of Gerald W. (Betty) Pennekamp, Ruth Ann (Bill) Hehman, and James E. (Kathy) Pennekamp. Beloved grandfather of Kenneth M. (Brianne) Brodeur and Erin M. (Larry) Eckert. Great-grandfather of Haven Moore, Ashley, Kade, and Brynnley Brodeur and Charles Thomas Eckert. Also survived by several loving nieces and nephews. Tom was a field engineer at IBM for 35 years, (1956-1991). He ran a driving range and putt-putt course in Kentucky with his brother-in-law, Bill Hehman. Together they also formed Caldwell Group which managed Hartwell Golf Club. During retirement he worked at Schmidt-Dhonau-Kucner Funeral Home for six years. Tom was also the President of Holy Name Society and Mother of Sorrows P.T.A., former Cub Scout and Boy Scout Master of Pack #466, served eight years as a Reading City Councilman, former secretary of the Reading Kiwanis Club, and served in all leadership roles in the Reading Republican Club. During the Korean War, Tom served as a crew chief on a B36 operating out of Ramey Air Force Base in Augdilla, Puerto Rico. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking and remodeling projects. Tom passed away Monday, September 3, 2012 at age 78. Mass of Christian Burial 12 Noon Friday, September 7th at Sts. Peter & Paul Church, 330 W. Vine St., Reading. Visitation 5-8 P.M.
