

Alexander “Alex” Zuy, 68, of Reading, passed away at his daughter’s home with his family by his side on Thursday, September 4, 2014. He was the loving husband of Linda (Wagner) Zuy. The couple celebrated 44 years of marriage this past May 16th.
Born in Reading on September 8, 1945, Alex was a son of the late Andrew and Anna (Kalabisko) Zuy. He was a 1963 graduate of Reading High School.
Alex joined the U.S. Army on October 27, 1965 and served during the Viet Nam War. While oversea, he received the Viet Nam Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Viet Nam Campaign Medal and the Good Conduct medal.
Alex was a member of the Alsace Lutheran Church in Reading. He was employed with Quadrant Engineering Plastic Products, Inc. for 47 years before retiring on Jan. 28, 2011.
In addition to his wife, Linda; Alex is survived by two daughters: Amy (Zuy) Sekulski and her husband, Robert of West Lawn and Mary (Zuy) Bertolet and her husband, Todd of Sinking Spring; two grandsons: Nicholas and Ryan Sekulski; a brother: Andrew Zuy, Jr and his wife, Bertha and a sister: Mary (Zuy) Vilardo and her husband, Frank.
Alex is predeceased by three brothers: John, George, and Michael Zuy; four sisters: Helen Dalton, Jane Nicholas, Vivian Leibensperger and Sonia Zuy and infants: William and Vera.
A funeral service for Alex will be held at 12pm on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 in Auman’s Inc. Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Rd., Reading, Pa 1960. Family and friends will be received in the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:30 until to 12pm. Alex will be laid to rest in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reading where military honors will be accorded.
