Anthony Elwood Ratkiewicz 85, passed away Tuesday March 5, 2019 in his Spring Township residence. The love of his life, his best friend, wife and childhood neighbor, Barbara J (Steffy) Ratkiewicz passed away October 6, 2008. They were married on January 3, 1959. He was born in Conshohocken on March 9, 1933 a son of the late Anthony and Irene F (Coates) Ratkiewicz.
Anthony was an Army veteran serving during the Korean War and was employed by Krompton and Knowles retiring in 2000. He raced speed boats and enjoyed the outdoors, golfing, and setting up his train sets during the holidays. Anthony and Barbara loved Nascar racing and vacationing at the beach and spending time with his family. Anthony was an avid Pittsburg Steelers fan.
Surviving are his 3 children; Kim M Eschleman of Laureldale, Anthony E Ratkiewicz II of Reading and his fiancé Danielle Lee Ormsbee, Heather M Ratkiewicz and her fiancé Kevin Eroh of Spring Township, 9 grandchildren; Keith J., Matthew T., Jillian H.-M., Seth A., Zachary M., Breanna L., Nicolette A., Siena C., Kaydin S., and 14 great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be Wednesday March 13, 2019 at 1pm in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Fleetwwod, PA. Theo C Auman Funeral Home, Reading is honored to serve the family. www.theocauman.com
