

Artie, was born in Topton, PA on September 25, 1922 to the late Earl and Cora (Adam) Reeser. She was married in May of 1942 to the late Eugene B. Zeigenfuss. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church on S. 11th St.
Artie worked most of her life as a cook in the Reading area, most notably at the 7th & Willow Hotel, the Seafood House, the Wyomissing Lodge, and the East End Athletic Club in Mineral Spring Park. Some patrons of the East End would even bring their own card tables on certain holidays to assure seating.
She was known for her cooking, but especially for her pie baking and her homemade mustard. After retiring, she continued to cook and bake for family and friends as well as special occasions at her apartment complex.
Her other love was crocheting and she made sure that each of her children and grandchildren had afghans, table cloths and kitchen towels made by her. She also crocheted baby caps and lap blankets for the hospitals and charities in the area.
Artie was a loving and devoted mother that raised her two daughters on her own. She was loved and cherished by her daughters, Elaine Zeiber and her husband, Ronald E. of Auburn and Sharon Pawlewicz and her husband, Michael of Sinking Spring. She will be sorely missed and fondly remembered by her six grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
She is also survived by a brother, Warren E. Zellner and his wife, Nancy of Lake Winona, IN and numerous nieces and nephews.
Artie is predeceased by her parents, her husband, her brothers, Leon and Charles Reeser and a sister, Ruth Brey.
A private family viewing and service will be held Thursday, January 12, 2012 in Auman's Inc. Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Road, Reiffton. Burial to follow in Union Cemetery, Topton.
