He is survived by his companion, Geraldine Ziegler.
August was predeceased by his wife, Rosemarie (Gerhart) Valore. He was born in Steubenville, OH, a son of the late Joseph and Florence (Cerguatto) Valore.
He was a Navy veteran serving during WWII and the Korean War.
August was employed by Textile Industry as a machinist for many years, retiring in 1988.
He is also survived by his 4 daughters: Joan E. and her husband, Richard Goodrich, of New Market, VA; Debbie Homan, of Wyomissing; Linda and her husband, John Manwiller, of Alsace Township; Patricia and her husband, Michael Berger, of Leesport; 5 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his daughter Carol Jean Valore on Nov. 21, 2014.
Services are private; burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery.
