

She was the loving wife of the late Marshall Edward Johnson, whom passed away June 21, 2007. Born in Reading on April 28, 1952, Barbara was a daughter of the late Richard E. Sr. and Alma J. (Bailey) Tonsil.
She attended Reading High School and was employed with for over 25 years, and retired from the former Willson Safety Products as a machinist.
Left behind to cherish her memories are three loving children: Marshall Lamont Johnson and his wife, Marilyn, of Florida; Denine M. Turner of Reading; and Lavinia L. Driggins and her husband, Troy, of Sinking Spring; and eight grandchildren: Derreck Roane-Turner, Caden L. Jackson Turner, William L. Driggins, Serenity L. Driggins, Naveah Tonsil, Jacques J. Hutchinson, Mileena M. Hutchinson and Ericka M. Hutchinson.
Also surviving are five brothers: Richard E. Tonsil Jr. of Reading; John M. Tonsil Sr. and his wife, Cheryl, of Wyomissing; Keith M. Tonsil of West Reading; Eric J. Tonsil of Reading; and Gary P. Spencer of West Lawn; five sisters: Lisa A. Augustus and her husband, Kevin, of Lancaster; Karen M. Pinchney of Easton, MD; Jacqueline W. Watson and her husband, Derrick, of Reading; Sherry A. Evans of Reading; and Bridget L. Evans of Reading; aunts; uncles and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Barbara's Life will be on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at 3 p.m. in Theo C. Auman Funeral Home, 247 Penn St., Reading, PA 19601. Family and friends are invited to gather in the funeral home before services from 2 to 3 p.m.
