Mr. Carmelo Reyes Jr.

Carmelo Reyes Jr., 53, passed away Feb. 4, 2010, in his Sinking Spring residence.He is survived by his wife, Maria (Santiago) Reyes.Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was a son of Carmelo Reyes Sr., Puerto Rico; and Maria Rodriguez, Brooklyn, N.Y.Carmelo served in the Army during the Vietnam era and he also served in the Army National Guard and the Navy, where he served in the Naval Police while in Brooklyn.Carmelo was a loving husband to his wife, a loving father to his three sons: Jason M. Reyes, Sinking Spring; Hector Reyes, Reading; and Louis C. Reyes, Sinking Spring.He was a loving brother-in-law and uncle.Carmelo was predeceased by a brother, Luis A Rivera, on Aug. 13 2005.Prayer services will be Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2010, at 9:30 a.m. in Auman Funeral Home, 247 Penn St., Reading. A viewing will be held Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010, from 6 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
