Carrie Doris Green

Carrie was born on September 9, 1936 in Rockingham, NC a daughter of the late Willis and Lucy (Crump) Lockhart.

Miss Carrie was a true and faithful believer in the Lord and was a member of Holy Trinity Church, Reading, PA. and was employed in dietary department at Manor Care West Reading retiring in 1999. She was known for her cooking, especially her sweet potato pies, stuffing and collard greens. Miss Carrie had a green thumb for all of her plants. She had a spirit that would shine her love upon anyone. She was a Mother figure to ALL.

She leaves to cherish in her memory her children; Jo Ann Lockhart the widow of George Ellison; Carrie E. Reid; William T. Lockhart, Sr. and his wife Tammy Lockhart; Delores L. Allen and her husband Andrew Allen; Evelyn M. Ferguson and her husband Michael Ferguson; Samuel G. Lockhart, Sr., and his wife Esperanza Lockhart; Fredwood J. Lockhart and his wife Noemi Lockhart; and Darlene Sanders and her husband William Sanders, I. Carrie will be met in heaven by her son, Michael W. Lockhart, Sr. as well as many brothers and sisters.

Also surviving is her brother, Arthur Lockhart and sister, Mary Alice Carter, many grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

A viewing for Carrie will be held Saturday, January 20, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Theo C Auman, 247 Penn Street, Reading, PA 19601, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 10:00 AM.

Carrie will be laid to rest in Berks County Memorial Gardens next to her husband Arthur Green.
