

Born in Reading on June 9, 1957, Cheryl was a daughter of the late Albert L. and Elizabeth O. (Burford) Washington. She was a 1975 graduate of Reading High School.
Cheryl was employed with the Y.M.C.A. as an Assistant Daycare Teacher for over 20 years. She enjoyed taking care of others. Her family meant everything to her and she loved to cook for them and spend as much time with them as she could. Although Cheryl had no biological children of her own, she was a mother figure to many, especially her nieces and nephews.
Left behind to cherish her memories is her significant other, Carey Donnell BiVines of Reading; brother, Curtis Washington and his wife, Bonnie Jean of Mechanicsburg; sister, Brenda Mann and her husband, Edward of Reading; sister, cousin and best friend, Fran Thompson of Reading; uncle, Charles Burford of Reading; aunt, Viola Whitfield of West Chester; 16 nieces and nephews; 28 great nieces and nephews; 7 great great nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Cheryl is predeceased by a sister, Juanita (Washington) Fisher.
Going Home celebration will be at 4pm on Saturday, February 6, 2016 in Spring Valley Church of God, 2727 Old Pricetown Rd, Temple PA 19560 . Family and friends will be received in the church on Saturday from 3pm to 4pm.
Family suggests memorial contributions be made in memory of Cheryl to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, 383 Main Ave., 5th Floor, Norwalk, CT 06851.
