Dawn "Gram" C. Dell, 81, of Wyomissing passed away on November 27, 2025, at Country Meadows. Born on April 9, 1944, in Reading, PA, she was the daughter of the late Sydenham Robert Schlegel and Thelma Viola (Keiper) Schlegel.
A proud graduate of Reading High School’s Class of 1962, Dawn went on to earn her beautician’s license in 1963. As the owner and operator of her own salon at the Hassler Home (now Fairlane Gardens), Dawn built a loyal following. She later put her mind to work doing bookkeeping for L&B Dodge.
Dawn was fabulous; truly and unapologetically fabulous, with a fiery spirit and a heart big enough for everyone she loved. She treasured time spent with her family and friends, and adored her dogs, who were never far from her side. She was happiest with sand beneath her feet and the sun on her face, whether on the beaches of Florida or Ocean City, NJ. A woman of impeccable taste, she loved wine, pizza, shopping, and hunting for unique art that spoke to her soul. She also loved listening to Elvis and could often be found working on word searches or Sudoku puzzles.
Dawn’s vibrant legacy lives on through her sons, Chris Dell and Joe Dell; her seven grandchildren: Alyssa Dell, Jordan Tegtmeier, Travis Dell, Ryan Dell, Jake Dell, Josh Dell, and Jessie Dell Reimer; her two great-grandchildren, Nora Dell and Ryder Dell; and her “bonus daughter,” Lisa Dell.
Services for Dawn will be private and held at the discretion of her family.
