Donald Robert Flowers

Donald "Don" Robert Flowers, 81, of Reading, passed away Tuesday July 13, 2021 in Tower Health Reading Hospital. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Clara Dorsey. Donald was born in Reading on September 28, 1939, a son of the late Willard Flowers, Sr. and Lillian (Haines) Flowers.

He was employed by Berkshire Knitting Mills and then GPU as a supervisor, retiring there. Donald was a Reading High School graduate, an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and an all around sports enthusiast . He was an active golfer and enjoyed his casino trips. Donald was a kind and generous person who would help anyone in need. He was a great provider and loving family man.

Donald is also survived by his children Vickie Bell, Christopher Dorsey, Sr. and his wife Rebecca, and Adrian Dorsey and his wife Shelly; siblings Willard Flowers, Jr. and his wife Doris, and Johanne Flowers; 4 grandchildren Cameron Bell, Christopher Dorsey, Jr., Cheyenne Flowers and Angelina Dorsey; 3 great grandchildren Kaiden Flowers, Kai Flowers and Sophia Dorsey; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and close family friends. Donald was predeceased by his son, Donald Flowers, Jr.

A Celebration of Life Service will be Monday July 19, 2021 at 11am in Theo C Auman Funeral Home, 247 Penn St., Reading, PA 19601. Burial to follow in Berks County Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be Monday 9-11am in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Zion Baptist Church, 224 Washington St., Reading, PA. 19601 in his memory.
