Doretha Jane Martin

She was the loving wife of the late Walter Martin. Born on October 21, 1925 in Roanoke, VA, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Bertha (Pandexter) Warren.

Doretha was a faithful member of the North Eighth Street Church of God where she was the church secretary and sang in the church choir. She also enjoyed raising children and was a foster parent for 25 years with the Berks County Children and Youth Services.

Surviving Doretha are her four children: Joy Martin of Reading; Yolanda Martin of Rochester, NY; Robert Martin of Reading; and Craig George of Reading; ten grandchildren; and four siblings: Dorothy Martin, Alta Mae Simmons, Thomas Warren and Andrew Warren. She is predeceased by two siblings, Odell Warren and Ernest Warren.

A funeral service will be at 6 p.m. this Thursday, June 19, 2014 in Theo C. Auman Funeral Home, 247 Penn St., Reading, PA 19601 with her pastor, Rev. Dean Faulkner officiating. Burial will be private in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reiffton.
