

He was born in Anniston, AL on August 3, 1933, a son of the late Roy M. and Evelyn (McClurkin) Williams.
Doug was a member of the First Church of the Brethren, and was employed by AT&T as a technical associate for 30 years retiring in 1989.
He played football for Georgia Tech, he loved Revolutionary War history, travel, covered bridges and sports. Affectionately known as "PaPa" by all, he was a fun-loving man who enjoyed telling stories and spending time with his family.
Also surviving are his daughter, Cara Williams Fry and her husband, Todd Fry, of York, PA; his son, Michael D. Williams and his wife Barbara of Birmingham, AL; 10 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
Doug was predeceased by his 3 sons: Russell A. Williams; Craig A. Williams; and Lance A. Williams.
Doug was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be dearly missed by his wife and best friend, Nancy.
Services will be Thursday, March 10, 2016 at 2 p.m. in Theo C. Auman Funeral Home, 247 Penn St., Reading. Burial to follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park. A gathering will be Thursday, 1-2 p.m. in the funeral home.
