Edna Lorraine (Eidam) Levan

Edna Lorraine (Eidam) Levan, age 97, of Reading, Pennsylvania passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2024. She was predeceased by her husband of 75 years, Joseph S. Levan Jr. Edna was born in Reading on January 24, 1927, a daughter to the late John W. and Florence I. (Seidel) Eidam. Edna graduated from Reading High School, class of 1944, later becoming co-owner and bookkeeper of J.S. Levan and Sons. Her greatest enjoyments in life were spending time with her grandchildren, traveling to her vacation home in Delaware, going to the beach with family and friends, collecting cookbooks, baking, sewing, crocheting, gardening, and especially decorating for the different holiday seasons.

Edna was predeceased by her siblings John M. Eidam Sr., Margaret M. Didyoung, Anna M. Eidam, Ruth E. Skuczas, Florence J. Brown, and Mary J. Orth. She is survived by a sister Betty A. Rohrbach.

Surviving are her four sons: Joseph S. Levan III, Dennis K. and his wife Pam Levan, Brian K. and his wife Suzanne Levan, and Kevin A. Levan. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Eric M. and his wife Sarah Levan, Brandon K. Levan, Ryan T. Levan, Dylan and his wife Emily Levan, Melissa and her husband Timothy Herbine, Matthew and his wife Kate Levan, Jennifer and her husband Gregory Hunsberger. Surviving are eight great-grandchildren: Maxwell and Eva Levan, Eleanor and Emmett Levan, Ella Herbine, Jake, Jaci, and Julia Hunsberger.

She will be sadly missed by all.

A memorial service for Edna, with Minister Doug Didyoung officiating, will be held on Friday, March 29, 2024 at 11:00 am., in Auman's Inc. Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Rd., Reiffton. Inurnment to follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park. A memorial gathering will be March 29, 2024 from 10:00 am. to 11:00 am. in the funeral home.
