Grace Elizabeth Wessner

Grace Elizabeth (Talarigo) Wessner, 91, of Temple, passed away peacefully in the Lutheran Home at Topton on Friday, October 28, 2016. She was the wife of the late Claude A. Wessner Jr. Born in Reading on July 25, 1925, Grace was a daughter of the late Florence (Mack) and Antonio Talarigo Sr.

Grace was employed with Western Electric Co. as a layout operator. While she was there, the company became AT&T and after 26 years, she retired in 1985.

For over 20 years, Grace was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and with her husband, Claude, made many teddy bears and hearts for patients in the Reading Hospital.

Surviving are two children, John A. Wessner and his wife, Barbara, of Rolla, Mo., and Joan R. (Wessner) Kemery of Temple; four grandchildren: Michael Kemery and his wife, Kristen; Todd Kemery and his wife, Samantha; Erin (Wessner) Campbell and her husband, Donnie; and Shannon (Wessner) Redford; and six great-grandchildren: Brooke, Dillon, Tyler, Samantha, Carson and Katie. Also surviving are two brothers, Albert Talarigo and his wife, Bernetta, of Reinholds; and Antonio Talarigo Jr. and his wife, Mary Lou, of Reading; and sister-in-law, Lois (Borelli) Talarigo of Sinking Spring.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Grace is predeceased by two brothers, Joseph and his wife, Emily (Amos) Talarigo, and Thomas Talarigo.

Service for Grace will be Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at 1 p.m. in Auman's Inc. Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Rd., Reading, PA 19606. Family and friends will be received in the funeral home on Wednesday from 11 to 1 p.m. Grace will be laid to rest next to her sweetheart, Claude, in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reading.
