He was an Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War and was employed by Rockwell Ind. as a machinist for 26 years retiring there. He enjoyed going to the casinos with his sisters and finding treasures at the local thrift stores.
Surviving is his daughter, Corie L Velazquez, sisters; Rebecca Lopez (spouse -Thomas Munoz), Bertha Burton ( spouse Willie Burton (deceased) and Lisa Evans (spouse Brian Evans) and granddaughter, Angie Spraggins (spouse Gregory Spraggins).
Herbert was predeceased by his son, Herbert S Hiester, Jr., brother, Russell Landis, Jr and sister, Catherine Strausser. Services and burial were private. Theo C Auman Funeral Home, Reading was entrusted with his services. www.theocauman.com
