He was born in Newton, Ga. a son of the late John Bennett and Josie Dyer. Horace was employed by Carpenter Steel as an overhead crane operator for over 25 years, retiring in 1994.
He is survived by his 4 daughters: Jeanette Bennett, of Exeter Township, Barbara Rogers and her husband Paul, of Exeter Township, Joanne Wilcox and her husband Edward, of Reading, Carolyn Bennett, of Reading; and his son, David Bennett, of Florence, Ala.; 3 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many family friends.
Horace was predeceased by 4 children: Horace J. Bennett Jr., Michael E. Bennett, Clifford L. Bennett and Rosemary Bennett.
A Memorial Service will be Thursday August 31, 2017 at 11 a.m. in Theo C. Auman Funeral Home, 247 Penn St., Reading, where friends and family may gather from 1030am to 11a.m.
