It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. James Wilson Lee, 81, of Reading, Pennsylvania. James entered eternal rest on the morning of December 25, 2023, at his residence, with his loving wife by his side.
Born on September 18, 1942, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, he was a cherished son to the late Charles and Corenia (Miller) Lee. James grew up in Reading, Pennsylvania and was a graduate of Reading High School. Upon graduation, James went on to proudly and bravely serve his country in the United States Navy.
James was an avid pool shooter, participating in many clubs and leagues throughout his lifetime. There were many nights where he could be heard honing his skills in the basement, and his many trophies were a result. He also took up the guitar, taking lessons to master songs including, Amazing Grace and his wife's "favorite", Love Me Tender. James was a jazz music enthusiast, and enjoyed going to jazz festivals with his wife. He could often be found in the kitchen, cooking and baking for his loved ones. James was a jokester, keeping family, friends, and even his nurses laughing, until his final days.
James was a loving, caring family man who always put the needs of others before his own. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Carol, of 15 years. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend. James lived for his grandchildren; they were his everything. He was able to see his youngest grandchild turn 13 in September, which was of particular importance to James.
James' memory will be carried on by his beloved wife Carol (Lutz) Lee; his children; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and siblings.
