Jimmie Lee Forrest, 77, of Reading, PA went to be with his Lord and Savior, on Saturday, December 11, 2021. Born September 21, 1944 in Pensacola, Florida, and grew up in Jackson, Mississippi. He was a cherished son to the late Ruby Forrest and William Anderson Forrest.
Jimmie dedicated 22 years working for Dana Corporation, until his retirement on February 1, 2001.
In his spare time, Jimmie was a social butterfly who frequented the barbershop just to chat with the guys,
and enjoyed visiting friends on the weekends. He enjoyed a good chat, a good joke and a good laugh. Jimmie loved being outdoors, running errands, trips to the casino and music; especially the oldies but goodies like Marvin Gaye and James Brown.
Jimmie lived his life exactly the way he wanted. He was spiritual, headstrong, hardworking and very ambitious. Whatever he decided to do-he did- and always was a straight shooter. He will be missed by all blessed enough to have known him.
Jimmie's spirit will be carried on by his 3 adult children Jessica Knott and her spouse Mark, Jeffrey Howell, Deandra Howell; and his brother Michael Scott. Jimmie also leaves behind 4 grandchildren Sabrina Aponte, Dante Robinson, Justin Roebuck-Howell, Aria Knott and 5 great grandchildren to cherish his memory.
In addition to his parents, Jimmie was greeted in heaven by his brother Judo and 3 sisters Dorothy Jean , Betty and Mary.
A viewing for Jimmie will be held Monday, December 20, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Theo C. Auman Inc., 247 Penn St., Reading, PA 19601. A prayer service will promptly commence in the funeral home at 11:00 AM, with pastor Danny Moore officiating. Graveside committal will immediately follow at Charles Evans Cemetery, 1119 Centre Ave., Reading, PA 19601.
