

Born in Baltimore, MD on May 17, 1929, she was a daughter the late Roy A. and Edith M. (O’Shea) Sprucebank. She was a 1948 graduate of Wilson High School.
Joan was employed with the Berks County Prothonatary office as a clerk for many years before retiring in 1994. She was devoted to her family and her friends were very important to her.
Surviving are three sons: James Flemming and his wife Susan Zakrzewski of Bernville, John Flemming of Lititz and Jeffrey C. Flemming and his wife, Amy Hoover of Sinking Spring; a daughter: Jo A. Ghiringhelli of Sinking Spring; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren and one great grandchild on the way.
Also surviving is a sister, Gail Stoyer of West Reading.
Joan is predeceased by two brothers: Roy A. “Peck”, Jr. and Tom Sprucebank.
A Mass of Christian Burial will commence promptly at 10:00am on Friday, September 21, 2012 at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, 701 Franklin St., West Reading. A viewing will be in the church Friday morning at 9:00am before mass. Burial will be in Pleasantview Cemetery, Spring Twp.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice Services, 4 Park Plaza Rd., Park Rd., Suite 105 A, Wyomissing, PA 19610.
