

Joe was born in Reading on December 23, 1931, a son of the late John and Anna Stiber.
He was a 1950 graduate of Central Catholic High School and a 1957 graduate of Albright College.
He was an Army veteran and served during the Korean War.
He was the West Reading Tax Collector and he had his own business as a Public Accountant.
Joe was a member of Ss. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, Reading. He served as an Altar Boy there as a child and as an Usher as an adult. He was very proud of his heritage and belonged to the Slovak Catholic Sokols Club. He was very knowledgeable about Catholicism and history. He liked to speak often of those subjects. Joe was a gourmet cook and he enjoyed reading, gardening and playing racquet ball.
In addition to Anita, Joe is survived by three daughters, Ann Osterfeld and her husband, Dan of Delaware, Michelle Kready of Ephrata, PA and Susan Waninger and her companion,Tom Gallupti of Topton, PA; ten grandchildren, Rob and Tim Osterfeld, Shaun and Ashley Waninger, Brandi Powell, Ryan Stiber, Christopher Kready, Justin Marrella and his wife, Caitlyn, Stephanie (Marrella) Gilbert and her husband, Todd; and Bryan Wagner and his wife, Kim; 12 great-grandchildren; a nephew, John Steber and his wife, Sara of Wyomissing and many cousins.
Joe is predeceased by his parents; brother, John Steber; a daughter, Vicki Jo Stiber; step-son, Allen Marrella and grandson, Bradley Waninger.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 10, 2015, at 11 a.m., in the Chapel of the Resurrection at Gethsemane Cemetery, 3139 Kutztown Rd., Laureldale, PA. Joe will be laid to rest following the mass.
