Kenneth "Kenny" Irvin Sparr Jr., 78, of Exeter Township, entered eternal rest on Friday, May 3, 2024, at his residence. Born in Reading, PA on February 17,1946, he was a son to the late Kenneth Irvin Sparr Sr. and Mary J. (Reber) Sparr.
Kenny was a graduate of Reading High School, class of 1964. Following graduation, he honorably served his country with the U.S. Army, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to duty and service.
For 28 years, Kenny dedicated himself to his work as the chief shipper and receiver at Crompton & Knowles, until his retirement.
An avid supporter of the NY Yankees, Kenny could often be found cheering on his favorite team with unwavering enthusiasm. Beyond his love for baseball, he had a passion for metal detecting, a hobby that brought him not only personal fulfillment but also unforgettable family memories. His dedication to metal detecting even allowed him to take his entire family on a trip to Disney World in 1993. Kenny was a collector at heart, with a particular fondness for old milk bottles, tins, and postcards. His collections served as windows into the past, reflecting his appreciation for nostalgia.
His faith was a cornerstone of his life, and Kenny was an active member of Seyfert Wesleyan Church, where he served diligently, taking care of the church and contributing his time as a board member. His dedication to his church community was a testament to his unwavering faith and commitment to serving others.
Above all else, Kenny absolutely cherished his family. He was a devoted father who supported his daughters wholeheartedly in their childhood sports and activities. As a grandfather, he was a source of love, wisdom, and endless laughter, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of his grandchildren.
Kenny will be sorely missed by all blessed enough to have known him. May he rest in eternal peace.
Kenny's spirit will be carried on by his beloved wife of 56 years, Rhoda (Ludwig) Sparr; his 2 daughters Wendy Schaeffer and her husband Jeffrey and Stacy Waldbrunn and her husband Daniel. He also leaves behind 6 grandchildren Michael, Ashley, David, Matthew, Brendan, Abigail and his beloved Cocker Spaniel Butter to cherish his memory.
A memorial service for Kenny will be held Sunday, May 12, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Seyfert Wesleyan Church, 2 Maple Rd., Birdsboro, PA 19508.
