Lori Lynn Covington was born on July 4, 1963 in Reading, PA to Samuel Fondell Covington & Mildred L. (Quick) Covington. She had numerous nicknames such as “Ms. Lori,” “Bucky,” and “Tutsi.” Lori’s father gave her the nickname Tutsi.
Lori was a high school graduate of the Special Education Center where she received several academic awards. She participated in the Special Olympics and also learned to swim. Lori loved to dance, have fun and joke around. She had a ball going to the Reading Phillies games as well as taking shopping trips to South Street in Philly. Working on arts and crafts and going to craft shows were also activities that Lori looked forward to doing. Lori enjoyed good meals and desserts, especially cake, and going out to eat or cooking out on the grill. She also enjoyed traveling for family vacations. Lori looked forward to going to church at St. John's until illness set in. Lori was a ton of fun and a joy to be around and will be missed.
She leaves to cherish her memory a sister Carolyn McAlpine wife of Horace McAlpine, a brother John Covington Sr., nieces & nephews Aubrie McAlpine, Dwayne Grayson, John Covington Jr., Jordan Covington, Josh Covington and a host of cousins and great nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of life will be celebrated Saturday April 18, 2026 at 10:30 AM in Theo C Auman, 247 Penn St. Reading PA. A viewing will be Saturday 8:30-10:30 AM in the funeral home.
