He was born in New Jerusalem on December 16, 1937 a son of the late Reuben D. and Hildegard (Wolff) Goodhart.
Also surviving are his 2 sons; Michael J. and his wife Hayley Goodhart and Christopher M. Goodhart and his partner, Farrah Ferguson, and sister, Sylvia S. Kohler, 4 grandchildren; Gracie Goodhart, Maxwell London Goodhart, Coleman Marcus Goodhart and Ethan Martin. Fred has a predeceased sister, Hildegarde Weldin.
Fred was a 1955 Muhlenberg High School graduate and a U.S. Veteran serving in the Marines. He was employed by Western Electric Bell Labs and was a professional pilot flying since he was 16, for a commuter airline and a local charter corporation and lastly, worked as a real estate agent for Wertz, Hoffman & Parks. But more importantly, Fred was a very proud, yet humble man who loved spending time with his family and had a calming presence that always put people at ease while spending time with him. A lover of the outdoors, animals and reading a multitude of books, especially history, he was always one with a huge vocabulary and would love it when he was able to manage to get a word into a sentence like 'somnambulistic'. He will always be remembered for the way he held others in his love and care. He is no doubt spending all his time where he loved to be the most-flying in the Heavens above.
A viewing will be held Wednesday Nov. 29th at 11-12 noon in the funeral home in conjunction with a prayer service in Theo C. Auman Funeral Home, 247 Penn Street Reading PA 19601. Burial to follow in Gethsemane Cemetery.
