Maria Socorro Rodriguez

Maria Socorro Rodriguez, 51, of Spruce St., passed away peacefully surrounded by family after a lengthy battle with cancer on Sunday, February 28, 2016. She was the loving wife of Hector Manuel Rodriguez.

Born in Guayama, Puerto Rico on April 19, 1964, she was a daughter of Carmelo Lebron Rivera, Jr. and the late Mercedes Sulivera Rivera.

Family was everything to Maria and she was happiest with them. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister.

In addition to her husband, Hector and her father, Carmelo and his wife, Celia Rivera; Maria is survived by three children, Sandy Rodriguez, Celestina Rodriguez and her companion, Jesus Arman and Hector Rodriguez, Jr.; seven grandchildren, Aracellys M. Villarreal, Anevay L. Mayo, Xavier L. Mayo, Nayelis M. Arman, Keishla M. Arman, Jesus M. Arman, Jr. and Arianna N. Arman and seven siblings, Jose Ortega, Gerardo Rivera, Jorge Rivera, Juan Rivera and his wife, Brenda Melendez-Rivera, Ana Rivera, Liseda Benitez Rivera and Marisol Rivera.

Also surviving are many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

A funeral service for Maria will be on Friday, March 4, 2016 at 11:00am in Theo C. Auman Funeral Home, 247 Penn St., Reading, PA 19601. Family and friends will be received in the funeral home on Thursday, March 3, 2016 from 6 to 8:00pm and on Friday, March 4, 2016 from 10 to 11:00am. Maria will be laid to rest by her mother, Mercedes in Aulenbach’s Cemetery, Reading.
