

He is survived by his companion, Frantiska Tomko. His wife, Dorothy L. Schneider passed away April 18, 1999.
Martin was born in New York City on April 9, 1921 a son of the late Max and Rose (Goldenberg) Schneider.
He was a 1939 Reading High School graduate and attended Los Angeles City College. He was employed by Sears in the furniture department as a salesman, then later in the appliance department. Martin also worked for Harold's Furniture on Penn Street.
He was a Coast Guard veteran serving during World War II in the Pacific Theater. In 1950, he and his wife traveled to Paris where they attended Art School. Later he traveled to Heidelberg, Germany and took civilian employment with the US Army in the Occupational Forces. Martin set up officer's quarters and they lived there for three years where he started his young family. On his time off he traveled all over Europe with his wife and daughter.
Martin was always on the go and visited all 50 states. He was an avid World War II buff. Martin was an antique car collector and his prized possession was ownership of a 1939 LaSalle.
He enjoyed classic movies of the 1930s and 1940s and even tried out for a screen test in Hollywood. Among his other interests were gardening, reading and spending time with family.
Martin is also survived by his daughter, Karen B. Valentine and her husband, Randy Traini and grandson, Aaron Valentine, all of Exeter Township and his brother, Herbert Schneider of Hampden Heights.
Martin was predeceased by his sister, Bernice Cravatts.
Services will be Saturday, September 20, 2014 at noon in Auman's Inc. Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Rd., Reiffton, PA 19606. Burial to follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects 10:30am to noon on Saturday in the funeral home.
