For 26 years, Mayra worked as a machine operator for Hershey Foods Corp. She truly loved her job, her work, and her coworkers, and was beloved by them in return.
Mayra found great joy in spending the entire day on the beach, all things Philadelphia Eagles, drinking coffee, dancing to merengue, watching 80's movies, The Mandalorian, playing BINGO and adult coloring books. She was a notorious "neat freak", who possessed exceptional organization habits. Everything had to be in its place!
Mayra will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends for her loving, kind and caring spirit, for always cheering on the Philadelphia Eagles and her endless supply of Tupperware. With her bubbly personality and welcoming smile, Mayra made friends, everywhere she went. She smiled easily, never judged, and befriended everyone she met. She will be sadly missed by all blessed enough to have known her.
In addition to her parents, Mayra's spirit will be carried on by her beloved husband of 19 years, David A. Hoy; her 2 beautiful daughters Mercedes Marie Hoy and Gwendolyn Rose Hoy; her grandmother Melquiades Serrano; her grandson Liam James Serrano; her brother Carlos Serrano Jr.; her bonus mom Rose Serrano; her 2 sisters Lexus Harris and Amanda Sperduto. She also leaves behind her blessed in-laws Gwen and Richard Hoy Sr.; brother-in-law Richard Hoy Jr. and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends to cherish her memory.
Mayra was preceded in death by her sister Carmen M. Gonzalez.
