Merrill was born in Portsmouth, VA., a son of the late Edwin A. and Sylbia H. (Mynes) Dawson.
Merrill enjoyed deer hunting and going to Wildwood and Ocean City, N.J. beaches. He liked spending time at the casinos, car shows was an antique car enthusiast. Merrill was passionate about painting and he was an all around great guy.
In addition to his wife Beth, Merrill is survived by his children; Ed Dawson, Tod Dawson, Vicky Hull, Step children; Shelly L. Oxenreider, Jamie R. Oxenreider and Linsey L. Oxenreider, brother, Damond and his wife Janet Dawson, 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Services will be Monday June 26, 2023 at 12 noon in Auman's Inc Funeral Home, 390 W Neversink Rd Reiffton. Burial to follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park. A viewing will be Monday 10-12 noon in the funeral home.
