Mildred Emily Hummel

Mildred Emily "Millie" Hummel 80, went home to be with the Lord while surrounded by her loving family in her Exeter residence. Her faith in the Lord and her determination helped her to overcome many health issues over the years always maintaining strength and dignity.

She is survived by her husband Wayne E. Hummel Jr.

A born again Christian, she was a member of Exeter Bible Church for 20 years where she was the head of the kitchen ministry and also in the choir. She was a dedicated volunteer in many service ministries: Christian Missionary Technical Services for 20 years sorting clothing and doing the mailing; organized trips, entertainment and other group functions for Exeter Bible Church Ageless Fellowship and Exeter Senior Citizens group out of Jacksonwald for which she served as Vice President and most recently as President; and Re-Uzit Shop of New Holland. She most recently became a member of Seyfert Wesleyan Church.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her 3 sons: Wayne E. III and his wife Eileen M. (Cooper) Hummel of Exeter, Walter P. and his wife Teri L. (Schaeffer) Hummel of Mt Penn and Elwood C. Hummel Sr.; 8 grandchildren: Shannon L. (Hummel) and her husband Shaun A. Wessner, Wayne E. Hummel IV, Walter P. Hummel II, Elwood C. Hummel II, Ryan M. Hummel, Melissa A. Hummel, Caitlin M. Hummel and Dylan L. Hummel; and 9 great grandchildren. Millie is also survived by her 2 brothers: Ronald and his wife Joyce Phile and Michael and his wife Patty Phile; and her dog Spunky "her 4th son". She will always be remembered in the hearts of her family for her love and devotion she showed them throughout their lives.

Services will be Thursday, September 1, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. in Seyfert Wesleyan Church, 3970 Main St., Birdsboro, PA 19508. Entombment to follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park. A viewing will be held that morning from 9-10:30 a.m. in the church. Contributions may be made to the church at the above address. Auman's Inc Funeral Home is entrusted with her services.
