Her husband, Alessandro Tarantino, passed away January 8, 1994. She was born in Andali, Italy, on July 12, 1933 a daughter of the late Aristide and Antonia (Denato) Peta.
Rachela was a member of Holy Rosary RCC and was owner and operator of Tarantino's Pizzeria at 301 N 13th St. for more than 20 years.
She is survived by her son, Joseph Tarantino of Sinking Spring; and her daughter, Angela Lapuma of Sinking Spring; her 2 sisters, Lucia Tallarico of Italy, and Grazia Lavigna of Reading. There are 3 grandchildren: Frank Lapuma, Alex Lapuma, and Bianca Lapuma, and also many nieces and nephews.
Prayer services will be Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 11 a.m. in Theo C. Auman Funeral Home, 247 Penn St., Reading. Entombment to follow in Gethsemane Cemetery. A viewing will be Saturday 9-11 a.m. in the funeral home.
