Ramon Betancourt, 48, of Reading, PA entered eternal rest unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 28, 2021. Born July 17, 1973 in Reading, PA he was a son to Tomasa (Torres - Melendez) Betancourt and Raymond Betancourt.
Ramon was mostly a mechanic for a living, most recently working at JMI Furniture, Reading. He was also an active member of "Custom Empire" car club, specializing in Honda's.
A true "Jack" of all trades, he was willing to help all, could fix anything, build anything and did a little landscaping on the side. Ramon was one of a kind. He was funny, outspoken, and was never shy to be straight forward. He will be sorely missed by all blessed enough to have known him.
In addition to his parents Tomasa and Raymond, Ramon's spirit will be carried on by his wife of 29 years, Lalitha Collazo; son Braydon R. Rodriguez; and daughter Lalitha L. Rodriguez. Ramon also leaves behind 2 sisters Mareliz Betancourt, Lesbia I. Torres; niece Ashley Feliciano and great niece Aniahlyn R. Browne to cherish his memory.
Ramon was greeted in heaven by his beloved son Jaylan Ray Rodriguez.
A viewing for Ramon will be held Friday, August 6, 2021 from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Theo C. Auman Inc., 247 Penn St., Reading, PA 19601. Graveside committal will immediately follow at 12:00 PM at Gethsemane Cemetery, 3139 Kutztown Rd., Reading, PA 19605, with Monsignor Thomas J. Orsulak officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations are being accepted to help with Ramon's funeral expenses. Those wishing to help may call or stop by the funeral home office.
