Raymond was a faithful member for over 40 years of Union Baptist Church, Reading. He attended workshops at Prospectus Berco. He really enjoyed going to the workshops where he was well liked and made many friends.
Raymond had a great appreciation for Spiderman, Batman and Speed Racer. He loved cars of all kinds, but his favorite was the Mach Five driven by Speed Racer. He also enjoyed sports, especially bowling and he proudly competed in track and field events in the Pennsylvania Special Olympics.
Raymond will be most remembered for his kind spirit, loving nature, and his contagious smile that brightened any room he entered. He was always quick to forgive. You could count on him telling you he was praying for you and he loved you.
Raymond's spirit will be carried on by his brother Michael Dancy; his aunts Marion & Brenda Dancy. Raymond also leaves behind a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, several great nieces & great nephews to cherish his memory.
In addition to his parents, Raymond was predeceased by his grandparents Thurman & Middie (Mayo) Dancy; aunt Barbara (Dancy) Lanum; and 3 uncles Roland, Thurman Jr., and Austin Dancy.
A viewing for Raymond will be held Wed., April 14, 2021 from 9:00- 10:30 AM at Theo C. Auman Inc., 247 Penn St., Reading, PA 19601. A homegoing service will promptly commence in the funeral home at 10:30 AM with Rev. Doris Thomas officiating & Pastor Robia Thomas delivering the sermon. Burial will immediately follow at Charles Evans Cemetery, 1119 Centre Ave., Reading.
