Robert Russell Frey Jr., 85, of Mohrsville, PA passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2022, at Rosewood Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Schuylkill Haven. Born in Reading, PA on July 28, 1937, he was a son to the late Robert Russell Frey Sr. and Mary (Kaucher) Frey.
Robert was a graduate of Reading High School, class of 1955 and proudly served his country in The United States Marines Corps. Upon his return to civilian life, Robert worked at AT&T as an electronic technician for 33 years, until his retirement in 1995.
Robert was a member of Bern Evangelical Lutheran Church in Leesport, Marine Corps League of Berks County and Victor Emmanuel II Beneficial Society.
Along with being an avid Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies and Penn State football fan, Robert was a proud season ticket holder for the Reading Fightin Phils. He never met a stranger and therefore had many friends from every walk of life. Robert will be sorely missed by all blessed enough to have known him.
Robert's spirit will be carried on by his 2 daughters Michelle Frey and Brenda Frey, both of Longs, SC and his son Robert R. Frey III and his wife Debra, of Womelsdorf. Robert also leaves behind 2 sisters; Mary Ann Bertoud and her husband Roland, of Kinzer, PA and Virginia Beck, of Wyomissing and his granddaughter Melinda Wiczkowski, of Lancaster, PA to cherish his memory.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his beloved wife Linda Eileen (Hilgendorf) Frey; his daughter Sue Wiczkowski; and his 2 brothers George Frey and Alan Frey.
A graveside committal with military honors for Robert will be held Friday, December 30, 2022 at 10:30 AM at Forest Hills Memorial Park, 390 West Neversink Rd., Reading, PA 19606. (PLEASE MEET AT CEMETERY ENTRANCE AT 10:15 AM).
