Robert Ronald Hassler, 86, of Fleetwood, PA passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2024. "Bobby", as he was affectionately known, was born in Reading, PA on July 25, 1937, a son to the late Daniel Adam Hassler and Madeline Emma (Walters) Hassler. In addition to his parent, Bobby was preceded in death by his 4 siblings Thomas James Hassler, Richard C. Miller, Patricia Lerch and Laura Mae Stapelton. His spirit will be carried on by his sister Mary Lou Durant and his 3 brothers Donald D. Hassler, Larry L. Hassler, and Gene Hassler. Bobby also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews too cherish his memory.
Bobby dedicated the majority of his working life to the craft of pretzel making, becoming a familiar face at Bachman's Pretzel Company.
Bobby found immense joy in life's simple pleasures, from playing BINGO with friends to cheering on his favorite NASCAR drivers to being a devoted fan of the Phillies and Eagles; proudly wearing their colors and rooting them on through every victory and defeat. He also had a profound appreciation for music, with a particular liking for the golden oldies and polka melodies that never failed to lift his spirits.
Bobby had a special fondness for his birthday, often eagerly reminding everyone, "Don't forget my birthday!". His excitement stemmed not only from the celebration itself but from the joy of receiving presents. However, above all else, Bobby's greatest love was his family. He absolutely treasured every moment surrounded by loved ones, finding immense happiness in their presence.
Rest in peace, dear Bobby. You will be deeply missed by all blessed enough to have known you, but we will never forget your birthday !
Graveside committal for Bobby (officiated by Pastor Mary Wolfe) will be held Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Forest Hills Memorial Park, 390 W. Neversink Rd., Reading, PA 19606. We kindly request all attendees to gather at the entrance of the cemetery 15 minutes prior to the committal service.
