Born in Chicago, Illinois, he was the son of the late Robert B. and Elizabeth (Coleman) Johnson. He married Rosa Bell (Burgess) Johnson in 1948.
Out of this unioin was born four sons: Robert B. III and with Janet, Leverne, Keith Johnson and Todd Johnson. Also surviving is a son, Kevin Walton. Also a very dear niece, Celeste Wilson. He also leaves to cherish his memory 15 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter.
He worked for Reider Construction for 45 years. He was a Navy veteran and a member of The George Washington Carver American Legion Post #926. He was also a member of the fisherman club for 44 years.
He was predeceased by his brother, Bernard Johnson, and his sister, Marian Wilson.
Services will be held in Theo. C. Auman, Inc., Funeral Home, 247 Penn Street, Reading, Pa., on Friday, March 17, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. Friends and family may view on Friday from 9:00-11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reiffton.
