Robert “Bob” Bernard Weinzapfel, 65, of Oley, passed away Thursday, November 21, 2019. He was the loving husband of Sharon M. (Foster) Weinzapfel of Oley and father of Christopher T. Weinzapfel of Brooklyn, NY.
Born in Saint Wendal, IN on July 8, 1954, he was a son of the late Leola (Reitman) Weinzapfel and Anthony and step-mother Henrietta Weinzapfel. Bob was a 1976 graduate of Purdue University, earning a Master of Engineering. He was employed with BCM Engineers in Norristown for 15 years, Worley Parsons of Green Hills for eight years and was currently employed with Spotts, Stevens & McCoy in Wyomissing.
Bob liked to read and travel. He also enjoyed golfing and grooming his lawn.
In addition to his wife Sharon, of 31 years, whom he married in Shillington on October 8, 1988 and his son, Christopher; Bob is survived by a brother, Michael Weinzapfel and his wife, Julie of Chaplin, SC and two sisters, Pamela Weinzapfel - DiMartino and her husband, Erick of Waccabuc, NY and Linda (Weinzapfel) Willard and her husband Thomas of Roanoke, VA.
Also surviving are many loving sisters and brothers-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be Tuesday, November 26, 2019 from 6 to 8pm in Auman's Inc. Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Rd., Reading, PA 19606. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at 10am in St. Catharine of Siena Catholic Church, 4975 Boyertown Pike, Reading, PA 19606. Robert will be laid to rest in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reading.
