After having three "mature" teachers at Glenside for 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades, it was GREAT having Mrs. Cafarelli, who at the time was probably about 32 when I entered 5th grade. One of the things I remember vividly is that she wore skirts and knee-highs! Wow, that was a breath of fresh air. Being a lefty, she never tried to get me to use my other hand. That must have been her earlier days. My mother really liked Mrs. Cafarelli, and that was all I needed to place her in very high esteem. She got me hooked on reading "Martha Washington, Girl of Old Virginia" which began my love for history, which I received a degree to teach out of college. To her loved ones, I send my condolences. Rosemary built into my life, and I am grateful

We are so sorry to hear of Mrs. Cafarelli's passing.  She and Nick touched the lives of many of us here at Griswold.  We will cherish our fond memories.  Our thoughts are with her family and friends during this difficult time.

She was my 5th grade teacher at Glenside in the fifties. They don't make them like her anymore. Thank you so much Mrs. Cafarelli. R.I.P.

I had Mrs Cafarelli in 6th grade at 13th & Green Sts. in Reading. I entered her classroom in the middle of the school year because we moved into that neighborhood and she made it easy for me to deal with coming into a new school especially in the middle of the year. She was a teacher who always wanted the best for her students. My condolences to the family.

I'm so sorry to the family of Mrs. Cafarelli for your loss...I remember her as my 5th grade teacher at Glenside Elementary.  May she rest in peace now and know that she had a positive effect on some of her students..My deepest condolences to her family...

Comfort and strength to the family in the loss of this great educator. Thank you Mrs. Cafarelli for strengthening my charactor back in 5th grade at Glenside in 1960. Never will forget "if at first you don't succeed try, try again". Will pass that on to my 6 year old Granddaughter.

Never will never forget "If at first you don't succeed try,try again". Those words were repeatedly used in my 5th grade class at Glenside Elementary School where Mrs. Cafarelli taught in 1960 thank you for those words of wisdom.

I had her in 5th grade, at Glenside Elementary School, in Glenside, outside of Reading, Berks County, PA___and remember her fondly.
Have a funny story, that a few other lefthanders have, as well___Mrs. Cafarelli always tried to get us to switch hands, when writing.  She would come around to our desks, give us a tap on the hand, and turn our paper a certain way.  I still think about that, to this very day___and LAUGH at how I fought with her, on that :)  I'm ambidextrous, but still write, and eat, left-handed___for everything else, I use my right hand.
I do remember her making me feel so special, as a child, when she asked me to decorate the classroom for some special party we were having.  I can't remember what it was; but, I do remember her appreciating my artistic abilities back then.
Just thought you would like to know a little bit of the memories.
