Roy Earl Richardson Jr., 50, of West Reading, PA entered eternal rest unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 21, 2024. Born on December 12,1973, he was a son Linda Joyce (Snyder) Robinson and the late Roy Earl Richardson Sr.
Roy worked at Chabad-Lubavitch of Berks County, where he took pride in maintaining the synagogue's facilities and assisting with catering events. He also worked at The DoubleTree, where he helped prepare meals for guests.
Roy had a deep appreciation for music, especially hip-hop and R&B. He enjoyed spending his free time watching movies and exploring museums. Personal appearance and hygiene were important to Roy. He always made sure he was dressed nicely, was well-groomed, and had a "fresh cut".
Though a private person, Roy was incredibly caring. When his beloved mother, Linda, suffered a stroke, Roy immediately stepped up to take on the role of her caregiver. His selfless devotion to his mother during this challenging time was a testament to the depth of his love for her.
In addition to his mother Linda, Roy's spirit will be carried on by his step father Allan "Flint" Robinson; his mother who raised him Linda Stoltzfus Smith; and his 2 daughters Reeyana Richardson and Sheerenna Green; his brother John Richardson, and his 3 sisters April Richardson, Sandra Jones and April Davis (James). He also leaves behind 3 aunts Zarinah Felton, Vivian Richardson (Robert) and Cathy Trupe; 3 uncles Fred Richardson, Ray Richardson (Linda) Jeffrey Snyder; 2 nieces Ashley Smith and Arya Richardson and his nephew Christopher Clark to cherish his memory.
In addition to his father, Roy was preceded in death by his 2 aunts Willisteen Peoples (James JC Peoples) and Mozetta Hall, and his 3 uncles Robert Richardson, Tommie Richardson,Irvin (Ludie) Richardson.
A viewing for Roy will be held Friday, September 6, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Zion Baptist Church, 224 Washington St., Reading, PA 19601. Homegoing service will promptly commence in church at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Dr. Bruce N. Alick officiating.
