Saverio Riillo

He is survived by his wife, Maria A. (Celia) Riillo, whom he married on January 13, 1957. Saverio was born in Gasperina, Italy, on August 7, 1930, a son of the late Giovanni and Carmela (Agresta) Riillo.

He was a member of Holy Rosary RCC, a veteran of Italian Air Force, and was employed by the City of Reading as a stone mason for 23 years, retiring in 1992.

His proudest moment was in 1970, when he helped rebuild the Pagoda observation platform.

In addition to his loving wife, Saverio is also survived by his 2 daughters, Carmela L. and her husband, Joseph P. Townsend, of West Reading, and Susie and her husband, Steven E. Houp, of Mohrsville; 3 grandchildren: Jessica M. and her husband, Robert E. Lee King, Sarah M. Frymoyer and Julia L. Houp; and 1 great-granddaughter, CaraMia L. King.

Also surviving are his 2 sisters, and former son-in-law, Brian K. Frymoyer.

Saverio was a devoted husband and his primary concern was his wife's well being.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on January 8, 2016, at 10 a.m. in Chapel of Resurrection, 3139 Kutztown Rd., Reading. Entombment to follow in the adjoining mausoleum. A viewing will be Thursday, January 7, 2016, 6-8 p.m. in Theo C. Auman Funeral Home, 247 Penn St., Reading.
