Shereetha Elizabeth Perry

Shereetha, 42, was born September 23, 1981, in Reading, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of Yvonne Marchelle Dorsey and the (late) Willie James Perry Sr.

Shereetha a 1999 graduate of Reading Senior High School, she continued her education at Shippensburg University graduating with her Bachelors in Sociology, and then attended Albright College graduating with her Masters in Elementary Education, and Early Childhood Certification.

On December 17, 2016, she received several Achievement Awards: along with earning several Academic Awards.

Spring of 2000 she became a (“Z&B” Stone Cold #6) Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Epsilon Eta

She was employed at Redners Market 5th St. Highway of Reading for more than 5 years; 2004-2014 Former Special Education Teacher at Kids Peace. On August 20, 2014, Shereetha was hired at the Reading School District starting as a Pre-K Teacher and then in 2015 she went on to be a Kindergarten Teacher until now.

Shereetha, loved working with children, so often you would see her with kids, and you wouldn’t have known they weren’t hers; she started in 2009 coaching softball, and field hockey hoping to help a child.

On May 16th, 2024, she received her letter that she had been appointed Reading High School Head Coach for Field Hockey.

She loved Watching Movies, (Greenleaf, Just Mercy, Snitch, Little Firer) Reading Books, (The Coldest Winter Ever) Listening to Music (Always Remember Us This Way) just to name a few. Sports was her favorite other than her High School and College teams, watching the Phillies & Eagles was her love. Singing, whether it was Etta James’s At Last, or Tasha Cobbs Break Every Chain; or Dancing and Laughing. Traveling with friends to Costa Rica, San Jose California, and The Mills at Jersey Gardens.

Shereetha often attended the St. John Missionary Baptist Church looking for an encouraging and comforting word from the Lord;

She leaves to cherish her loving memories her Mother Yvonne Dorsey, two sisters Clarissa Bryant of Reading and Samantha Bryant, three brothers Willie James Perry Jr., Samuel Lee Bryant (wife) Jana Bryant, and James Vincent Bryant, eight nephews, and six nieces, aunts Elvonia Jones of Reading, Earnestine Paulks of Columbus Ga., uncles David L. Perry (wife Betty Jean) of Reading, Eddie Perry Sr. of Columbus Ga., Godmother Roberta Jewell; Her Companion Johnny “Rico” Serrano, two God daughters, a host of cousins, and friends.

Shereetha is predeceased by her Father Willie James Perry Sr. and her Stepmother Florence Perry, Grandmother Mable Focht.

A viewing for Shereetha will be held Saturday, May 25, 2024 from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM at Geigle Complex, 801 N. 13th St, Reading, PA 19604, followed by A Celebration of Life Service at 9:30 AM. Shereetha will be laid to rest in Pleasantview Cemetery.
