Teresa Denise Wright

Teresa Denise Wright, 61, of Reading, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 25, 2015 after a brave fight with cancer. She was the loving wife of Otis Lee Wright, Sr. The couple have been married for 45 years.

Born on January 25, 1954 in Reading, she was the daughter of Isaac William Wright and the late Mary Lucille (White) Wright.

Teresa was a devoted, faithful member of Zion Baptist Church where for the last two years she was the church Greeter. She enjoyed helping out at the church whenever she could. Teresa loved to sing and dance, earning the nickname “Happy Feet”. She was a huge Dallas Cowboys fan.

Teresa grew up in the area and was employed for 15 years with Bailey’s Sandwich Shop where she was known for her cheesesteaks and chicken wings. Later, she was employed with the Family Dollar Store on 9th and Penn.

She was a fighter and never lost her faith and love for God. She will be sadly missed by all those whose life she touched.

In addition to her father, Isaac and her husband, Otis, Sr.; leaves behind to cherish her memory two children, Otis Lee Wright, II and Tressa Denise (Wright) Jefferson and her husband, Eric Steven; a stepson, Andre Lee Davis; seven grandchildren, Shacara J. Wyatt, Devante L. Wright, Casimir L. Wright, Tashay C. Wright, Ozias L. Wright, Eriana S. Jefferson and Nevaeh E. Wright and four great grandchildren, Mekhi Campbell, Tru Love Kea, Clinton Evans, Fr. And Cadan Evans.

Also surviving are her siblings; Kevin A. Wright and his wife, Marcia, Karen M. Rowe, Cheryl L. Edwards and her husband, Joseph, Kimberly L. Wright and Kelly L. Wright and an aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A Home Going service will commence promptly at 11am on Thursday, April 30, 2015 in Zion Baptist Church, 224 Washington St., Reading, PA 19601. Family and friends will be received on Thursday morning in the church from 10 to 11am.
